Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and this holiday presents the perfect opportunity to thank the mother figures in our lives and show them just how much we appreciate all they do. Have you been searching for creative ways to honor your mother, grandmother, or aunt? Take a look at these things that she’ll love:Personalized Photo BookChoose some of your favorite photos of the family together, and created a personalized photo book. There are multiple websites that offer this service, or you can make it quick and easy with a trip to your local CVS or Walgreens! The book can be printed before lunchtime. Your mom will love keeping it on her coffee table to show off to friends and family.Family MealPrepare her favorite meal, and gather the family to enjoy it together. Decorate the room with collages of her favorite pictures, and give her a toy crown to wear during the meal while you let everyone take turns sharing why they’re thankful for her.Take Care of ChoresTake some of mom’s responsibilities off of her plate this Mother’s Day. Plan a meal, finish the laundry, or vacuum the house. Galatians 5:13 says that “through love, serve one another.” Helping your mom check items off her to-do list is a great way to serve her. Family ComicsStart a new tradition this year, and create a comic strip based on your family life. Think of a funny event or outing you all had over the last year, and illustrate it with your own doodles and dialogue. Put the comic strip in a photo book so it can be protected with the plastic covering, and you can add a strip to it every year as time goes on.Rest and RelaxationAt some point during the day, give your mom the option to take a little alone time to relax. Maybe she’d like an hour to call a friend or read by the pool, a chance to sleep in, or a manicure at her favorite salon. Or even better, make coupons for each of the relaxing activities she loves, and let her redeem those coupons throughout the weekend.Make a VideoPut together a homemade video. Gather all of your siblings, and give her a video that will make her laugh, cry, and feel loved. You can create your own comedy show, sing a song about why you love her, or take turns sharing your favorite memories with mom.At private schools in Lakeland, FL, we foster an atmosphere of care and an environment of high expectations and effective discipline.
